So glad summer is here and the school term is done so I can concentrate on photography again for the next four months. Here’s one from Poirier & MC Zulu’s dope show at the Biltmore on saturday night. Amazing to dance to as canucks girl attested to. After this show I joined Gnarwhale peeps at a pretty ridiculous bridge party next to the Home Depot on Terminal street.
Shit like that needs to happen in Vancouver more often. Way too fun.
So I recently moved in to 7th and Main/Kingsway with Andy Chung. We just set our office up and I can already see the motivating effects this has. I just want to work constantly now that I have an ‘office’ and not a tiny room in university residence. I know it looks cramped in the picture, but it’s actually quite spacious and awesome! Just ordered a new monitor, can’t wait to set it up here and edit photos on a proper screen. It’ll probably make me want to re-edit all my photos ever.
On to iphone photography, which is the best type of photography in the world right now. Still obsessed with the Autostitch app, but I’ve recently been skipping Millcolour for Photoforge. This app costs $2.99, which is more expensive than the zero dollars that Millcolour costs, but it’s one hell of a powerful app. Levels, colour adjustments, bw adjustments, clone stamp (?!), filters, cropping, curves, lots more. Ever made points on a curve and moved them around using your fingers? Yea, me neither. It’s amazing and makes you wonder what photo editing programs on the iPad could be like. Photoforge is relatively quick working and it saves your photo when you quit the app so you don’t have to re-edit things all over again. Definitely highly recommended.
